Health Information Exchange

CurrentCare is Rhode Island’s statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE). To date more than 500,000 people have enrolled in CurentCare – a secure repository that holds a person’s medical information from almost 500 data-sharing partners. Healthcare professionals can access this information through the CurrentCare Viewer.

The data contained in each record includes

  • Patient admission and discharge alerts from all acute care hospitals and emergency departments in RI.

Patient data presented in the CurrentCare Viewer includes:

  • Labs, medications, EKGs, discharge summaries, immunizations, allergies and more.

Patients also have access to their own information through a consumer-facing portal, CurrentCare for Me.

Care Management Services includes dashboards containing admission, discharge and transfer activity on your patient panel. The dashboards show you, in real time, which of your patients are currently admitted as emergency or inpatient; currently being discharged from emergency or inpatient setting, and trends on this data over time. You can also receive real time hospital and ED alerts on your full patient panel or a subset of your panel.
