The Rhode Island Quality Institute (RIQI) is pleased to announce it will be issuing a request for proposals (RFP) for its health information exchange (HIE) vendor. RIQI plans to release the RFP the week of February 10, 2020 with responses due on March 9, 2020.
RIQI is a center of collaborative innovation, based in Providence, Rhode Island, which drives healthcare transformation to improve the healthcare delivery system and health outcomes. RIQI’s mission is to significantly improve health and advance the quality and value of care. RIQI owns and operates CurrentCare, Rhode Island’s official statewide HIE.
RIQI’s goals and strategies include the continued increase and improvement in data sharing partner capacity and shortened integration completion timelines for new participants that are using electronic health record (EHR) systems connected to CurrentCare. Through the issuance of this RFP and the selection and implementation of an HIE vendor proposal, RIQI aims to refresh its technical application infrastructure to align to these goals. A critical initiative for RIQI is to increase data exchange with provider practices and supply targeted analytic solutions for supporting clinical decision making and healthcare coordination. RIQI has performed integrations with CurrentCare with over 17 EHR systems that have HL7 and IHE integration capabilities, with continued plans to implement integrations with additional EHR systems.
